🆘 HELP NEEDED🆘
SAVE KOREAN DOGS USA FOUNDATION (SKD USA) needs to fill open board positions by October 30 or the organization will be dissolved at the end of the year.
SHARING FROM HEIDI'S POST
We are a nonprofit organization with an all-volunteer board of directors. The organization was designed with seven board member positions, but we are down to three members at this time. This is not sustainable. We all work full-time jobs with demanding work schedules, and have families, pets, homes and personal lives to also manage. We need more committed individuals to step up, join the board and share the workload.
· Board Secretary
· Director of Home Placements
· Director of Communication & Community Outreach
If we are able to fill two of the open positions by October 30, we can potentially continue operation. Priority positions to fill at the moment are Board Secretary and Director of Home Placements. Board members do not need to reside in the United States; in fact, one of our original board members lived in Singapore.
Board members need to be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of their own roles including maintaining spreadsheets, contracts and other paperwork; while also helping with the overlap of responsibilities for other open positions. We hold monthly board meetings via Zoom, while also communicating almost daily by group chat. Board members must act professionally during frustrating situations while maintaining confidentiality. All SKD USA board members are required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
We are a nonprofit corporation and seek creative individuals interested in growing the corporation. Establishment of a sanctuary in North America has been a goal since SKD USA was incorporated in 2019. If we are able to continue operation beyond the end of this year, a committee of volunteers will be formed to pursue that sanctuary goal.
This message is truly a call to action. Comments on the Facebook post have been turned off. While comments are nice, we need committed individuals to apply for the open board positions. Inquiries and resumes should be emailed to: Heidi@savekoreandogs.org no later than October 30.
